The hike to High Knoll is located within Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam, near the Pitt-Addington Marsh and the Pitt River.
With over 200 hectares in Minnekhada Regional Park, there are many trails to explore throughout. The main trails are the Quarry Trail, Mid-Marsh Trail, Lodge Trail and the Fern Trail.
Cypress Falls Park is a lesser known, yet impressive area of forest in West Vancouver. A walk through the trails of Cypress Falls Park takes you amongst some of the biggest trees you can find on the North Shore. The 300+ year old giants are rivalled only by the trees of nearby Lighthouse Park. As Cypress Falls Park sits at a lower elevation, this hike is accessible year-round and is family-friendly.
Lighthouse Park is a beautiful strand of old-growth forest nestled into West Vancouver at the entrance of the Burrard Inlet. Numerous trails throughout the park provide the perfect family outing on a sunny or a rainy day. There are several access points to rocky outcrops on the ocean shore, providing fantastic views of the Salish Sea, downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. The forest is dense and rich with life, and is a great spot for a quick getaway from the bustle of the city.
Brandywine Falls is an iconic landmark along the Sea to Sky Highway, located in Brandywine Falls Provincial Park. It is located just 20 minutes south of Whistler and 30 minutes north of Squamish. To reach the waterfall, it is a quick and easy hike on flat terrain.
Hollyburn Mountain (aka Hollyburn Peak) in Cypress Provincial Park is one of the most popular winter trails around Vancouver. On a sunny weekend day, hundreds of people flock to the trail to get some fresh winter air and soak up the spectacular view of the city and surrounding mountains.
