In 2009 Eric began graduate school at UBC and fell out of skiing for a few years before discovering backcountry skiing – using skins on his skis to climb up mountains, before removing the skins and skiing back down – in the local mountains.

Born in 1980 in Ottawa, Lina Augaitis spent much of her youth as a competitive gymnast. In 2003 Lina moved to Vancouver to complete her master’s in Sport Psychology at UBC. Lina began rock climbing and then spent a few years in Whistler, where she started trail running, mountain biking and backcountry skiing. A lot.
Tales from the Outdoors feat. Adventurer Kevin Vallely
On July 5, 2013 North Vancouver resident Kevin Vallely, along with three teammates, set off on the Mainstream Last First Expedition in a bid to become the first ever to self-propel (no motor, no sail) themselves across the Northwest Passage in a single season. The team was tasked with rowing themselves in a 25 foot custom-made boat, 3,000 kms through icy cold waters. The goal of the expedition was to illustrate the dramatic effect climate change is having on the world, and in particular, the Arctic.

Kris Sneddon, 31, has grown up and spent most of his life mountain biking in Sechelt. Kris has also spent 6 years training in Victoria with other elite riders, as well as doing races around North America and some on the European circuit, competing at the top level of his sport.
