One of the best ways to relax while camping is in a hammock. They’re versatile and quick to set up. They keep you off the ground away from bugs and creepy-crawlies. And, best of all, they’re incredibly comfortable.
The only downside to (most) hammocks is they are designed for one. Sharing a standard hammock – at least one that is small and lightweight – has never been comfortable.
After doing some research for a good two-person hammock, one that repeatedly came up was the Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) DoubleNest hammock. The DoubleNest is ENO’s two-person version of their popular SingleNest hammock.
As ENO describe it:

It’s our bread-and-butter. It’s your all-access pass to relaxation. Big enough for two and palatial for one, the DoubleNest still manages to stuff easily into its attached compression sack. Take it anywhere, set it up in seconds flat, lay back and Oh, did you want to join me? I’ve got room for one more!
The ENO DoubleNest is the ideal hammock for camping with the family, or snuggling up with that special someone. It’s perfect for car camping, but small and light enough that it can be brought on day hikes or overnight treks. The DoubleNest rolls up to the size of a grapefruit and easily folds into the attached compression stuff-sac. It weighs 19oz and holds up to 400lbs.
It comes with Atlas straps which are sturdy and built to support 400lbs. The webbing is easy to wrap around a tree and the hammock has a carabiner on each end which clips onto one of the 15 adjustment points on each strap. This makes getting the perfect angle a snap, and setup and takedown only takes a few minutes.

It’s bug net and tarp compatible, so it could certainly be used instead of a tent while camping. I prefer to sleep in hammocks instead of tents whenever possible, and the ENO DoubleNest is a great option. However, while designed for two people to relax or nap together, I can’t see that sleeping two people in the hammock overnight would be very comfortable.
Overall, the ENO DoubleNest hammock is a great hammock that fits a variety of purposes, from lounging by yourself in the backyard, to sharing an incredible view with someone in the backcountry.
