I stumbled upon this product a while back and just came across it again in my bookmarks. I’ve never used it so I can’t give a personal review, but from the various reviews I’ve looked at from around the net, it seems to work pretty well.

The SteriPEN is not meant to clean turbid water, but is ideal for purifying clean water, and can do about 1L in 1.5 minutes. It runs about $100.
According to the company website, there is only one dealer in BC, located in Victoria, but it is also available on Amazon.
