The North Shore Hikers Club boasts over 600 members and has been around since 1958.
We provide outdoor activities that are enjoyable, satisfying, scenic and safe. Through the club, members can enjoy fantastic wilderness in all seasons, improve fitness and develop outdoor skills.
We have an average of 7 weekend activities at various levels, with more in summer than winter. They include hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, back country skiing and backpacking. Trips are rarely cancelled, except due to heavy rain or poor trail condition. In addition to local mountains, areas visited include Whistler, Chilliwack Valley, Manning Park and Mt. Baker. Wednesday hikes run year round and are planned on a week-to-week basis. There are multi-day trips as far afield as the Rockies. Occasionally, members travel overseas together for adventures.
If you’re looking to get outdoors more often in the North Shore and beyond, and meet some new people, this is a great club to join. The club is volunteer run, and also has the occaisional workshop for members. It costs $28 to join the club, and is for adults only (19 years or older).
