Wild, the new movie starring Reese Witherspoon and based on the New York Times bestselling book, will be released in a few weeks. Wild tells the true story of Cheryl Strayed, who through-hiked the entire length of the Pacific Crest Trail (1,800 km, from Mexico to Canada) by herself at age 22. As hiking the PCT is on my personal bucket-list, I read the book earlier this year and really enjoyed it, and have been looking forward to this movie.
If you want to see the movie also, I have 10 advance screening double-passes (admit 2 each) to give away (and some Wild swag)! To earn one of the passes, come along on a WILD hike on Sunday, December 7 – the day before the screening. We’ll be going for a casual hike up to Quarry Rock in Deep Cove. It will be a good chance to meet a few new people and get a great hike into your morning.
To make sure everyone who comes gets some swag and a movie pass, the hike will be limited to 10 people. The first 10 people to RSVP for the hike will get to join and receive one double-pass. So if you can make it for the hike, all you have to do is email me and let me know you’ll be joining! Once the hike is full, I’ll email you to confirm if you were one of the first 10.
Details about the hike
When: Sunday December 7, 2014 at 10am.
Where: Quarry Rock in Deep Cove
What you need to know: We will meet at the Panorama Park parking lot and walk to the trailhead from there promptly at 10am. It will take roughly 1 hour to reach Quarry Rock, where we will have a snack and enjoy the view for 10-15 minutes before heading back down. The finishing time back at the parking lot will be 12pm.
